1. How long will it take for my domain name to be active on the Internet after it has been registered? - Top

.com, .net and .org domain names registered through registerclub.com may take up to 72 hours, which is normal Internet propagation time, until they are accessible on the Internet.

2. Why doesn't my domain name access my Web site? - Top

In the event that your domain name is not currently resolving to your Web site, check the following to ensure that your domain name's zone file and DNS (Domain Name Server) Information are configured correctly.

All changes to a domain name require propagation time. Propagation time is the amount of time it takes for domain name information to be distributed throughout the Internet. Therefore, if you have recently pointed your domain name to your Web site through a DNS change, you will need to wait approximately 24-72 hours for the change to take effect. Alternatively, if you edited your IP Address to point your domain name to your Web site, you will need to wait up to 24 hours for the change to take effect.

IP Address: Check the IP Address that your domain name resolves to in order to ensure that you have entered the address correctly. If you have mistyped the address or entered an invalid IP Address, please enter the correct information, then apply the changes. Please make sure that the computer or Web server at the IP Address you list is configured to respond for your domain name.

3. Why are the changes I made to my domain name still not appearing on the Internet? - Top

All changes to domain name information (IP Addresses, Domain Aliases, MX Records, SOA Information and Domain Name Server Information) require a certain amount of Internet propagation time. Propagation time is the amount of time it takes for updates and changes to be loaded onto the DNS (Domain Name Servers) that are listed as authoritative for the domain name and/or for information to be distributed throughout the Internet. When you make changes to your domain name, keep in mind the following time table, which lists the amount of time it takes for changes to appear in register.com's WHOIS database, registerclub.com's DNS, and, if applicable, the central registry.

4. Why does my domain name sometimes access my Web site, but resolve elsewhere at other times? - Top

If your domain name does not always resolve to the IP Address or Web server that you have indicated in Domain Manager, it may simply be a result of insufficient propagation time. Propagation time is the amount of time it takes for changes to your domain name to be fully distributed throughout the Internet's root servers and the Domain Name System.
